A very wide-ranging subject, but one that comes
back to that one simple question:
Do you know what you
want to do with the computer?
This may be to write letters, do your accounts,
keep track of contacts and clients, browse the Internet, or send
e-mails, or many other things that can be done with a computer.
However, you may not know all the things that you can do with the
computer.
The philosophy we adopt is that the use of
computer should provide benefit to yourself or your business. It
should make it easier or quicker for you to undertake a task,
otherwise it’s just an expensive means of wasting time.
A computer can help in many aspects of a
business. It can help you to write letters, by improving your
spelling, or the formatting of your letters, or by using mail merge
to easily send the same letter to many different people.
It can help with invoicing, with keeping track
of expenses, or even provide a full set of accounts.
It can keep details of your contacts, of your
clients and their purchases, of your purchases from suppliers.

Having a network can allow you to share
information with other people in your company, ensuring that
everyone knows what is going on.
Printers are becoming cheaper and cheaper, but
the quality is rivalling that of bespoke printing companies. Even
photographic quality output is available from printers costing less
than £200.
Digital cameras allow you to take and download
photos easily, while there are packages to ‘tart up’ those photos to
professional quality.
And the Internet allows you to send e-mails
quickly and easily, speeding your communications, and also provides
access to an immense amount of information ‘on line’.
All in all, there are many things you can do
with computers, but only some will be right for you. We can help
you to look at your current working practices, and advise on those
that would benefit from computerisation, and also provide a
specification and budget costing for the equipment you would
require.
If you are uncertain whether computers can
improve your business,
contact us and let us help you
decide.
