This question is almost impossible to answer without knowing more about your business, but the most important question to ask yourself is ”What benefit will we get from having a web site?”.
Put yourself in the place of one of your clients, or a prospective one.
Would I expect to see your company and it’s products or services advertised on the Internet?
Would I expect to look for them there?
If I found them would that make me more likely to order from that company?
Would I expect to be able to buy the products over the Internet?
If the answer to any of the above questions is YES, then you have a reason for having a web site. |
You may have a need for a website, but the size of the website should also be considered. Is it something that you need to have their purely because you have to do appear on the Internet. If so then you may only need a small site. If customers expect to be able to buy from you via the Internet then you will need a much bigger one.
Whichever it is, that you should not spend more than you have to do, save the money and use it more effectively on another aspect of the marketing mix.
